Concordia University, Nebraska, held its 111th commencement on Saturday, May 5 awarding undergraduate and graduate degrees to nearly 300 May graduates.
The Cornell College Department of Theatre and Dance invites audiences to "August: Osage County," opening May 3 in Kimmel Theatre on the Cornell College campus. This dark comedy, written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tracy Letts, offers an unflinching look at a Midwestern family on the edge of explosion. After the disappearance of the family patriarch, three generations of an American family collide in an Oklahoma farmhouse, bringing with them years of resentment packaged in fast-paced and unflinching dark humor.

A total of 12,594 students enrolled during the 2017 fall semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.
The University of Alabama recently selected 39 students as Capstone Men and Women. Capstone Men and Women serve as official ambassadors of UA. They assist the University president's office, admissions and alumni during functions held on campus and in other locations, as well as host daily tours of the campus for prospective students and other visitors.
More than 100 students are taking part in Cornell College's 11th annual Alternative Spring Break from March 5 through March 15.
More than 100 Knox College student-athletes were named to the Midwest Conference's Academic All-Conference list for the 2016-17 academic year and athletic season. The criteria to become an Academic All-Conference selection includes a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.33, which is calculated only in the awarded academic year. First-year students, sophomores, juniors, and seniors who letter in any of the MWC's fall, winter or spring sports are eligible for the award. Several of the honorees were recognized for the academic achievements while playing more than one sport.

Several area residents received merit scholarships to attend Fort Lewis College for the Fall 2014 semester. These merit scholarships are renewable for up to 120 credits if criteria are met. Fort Lewis College also offers several other scholarships, including grants, the Finish in Four! Scholarship, FLC Foundation scholarships, alumni scholarships, departmental scholarships, Native American scholarships, and outside scholarships.

Student participants were selected by their departments to represent the best undergraduate research and performances done at Fort Lewis College this year, either in oral or poster presentations.
